MENTOR European Industrial Doctorate (2021-24) was a 4-year Innovative Training Networking. Six researchers were recruited and trained to be the next generation of experts in ML&AI for optical networks
- As a European Commission MSCA ITN, MENTOR was a fully-funded PhD with a generous salary
- Successfully recruited Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) worked with top researchers across Europe
- As well as having a dedicated PhD supervisor, industry co-supervisors also contributed
- ESRs benefited from meaningful collaboration with global companies in Europe, developing their own research and contributing to industry
- Employment possibilities increased because of exposure to business networks and secondments
